My name is Olga Slutska, I am living in Russia.

Now I learn Deutsch by muself, no any courses, because I have get English courses 1,5 years (and it was not cheap!), but I could not speack normal. I did not get english fluently. And some years later I get some friends in USA and I was speaking with amirican people every day 1-2 hours. I can see differents. :-)) And you are right - you need not LEARN English (may be only for setrificat), you can USE it - and you will know it very well, step by step. My recomendations for you:

1. take a noticebook and make 4 parts: noun, adjective, adverb, verb, put there new words, what you will meet
2. use google translate (translate.google.com) for easy and fast translating (only words, it is not good for sentanses)
3. make your usually themes on your own lenguage (weather, job, friendship - any) and try translate it for English
4. speak with somebody every day
5. read original English book, something easy, O`Henry for example
6. listen some audio - sings, radio, audiobook - what are you want
7. make book about YOUR language for english people
8. and please, don`t be shy with your mistakes - it is normal for the first time! :o))

the most important - make it easy, for fun and pleasured
follow your interest, it will go to goal :-))
